It reaches up to 15 centimeters in height and has flowers about 1.5 centimeters in diameter. The plant has a rhizome-type root system with fine rootlets and a hairless, sometimes downy stem. Its leaves are alternate, stalked with oval or lanceolate shapes and serrated margins. The flowers are solitary, lateral, and hoisted on long peduncles.
