Stellaria graminea is a perennial herb with branching stems that can be prostrate, sprawling, trailing, or erect, reaching up to 90 centimeters long. The stems are four-angled and hairless. Leaves are linear or lance-shaped, 1–4 centimeters long, smooth-edged and hairless except at the bases. The flowers have five pointed green sepals and five white petals, each deeply lobed to appear as two. The plant bears reddish-brown seeds approximately 1 millimeter in diameter and has 10 stamens.
