Prunella vulgaris, commonly known as self-heal or heal-all, is a herbaceous plant in the mint family. It grows to a height of 5–30 cm with creeping, self-rooting stems. The leaves are lance-shaped, serrated, and reddish at the tip, growing in opposite pairs down a square stem. The flowers are two-lipped and tubular, with a purple hood on top and a white bottom lip. It blooms from June to August in the USA.

Phytochemicals include betulinic acid, D-camphor, D-fenchone, cyanidin, delphinidin, hyperoside, manganese, lauric acid, oleanolic acid, rosmarinic acid, myristic acid, rutin, linoleic acid, ursolic acid, beta-sitosterol, lupeol, and tannins.
Prunella vulgaris is used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat dizziness, red eyes, dry cough, and dermatitis. It is also used as a beverage by the Nlaka'pamux people and in herbal teas. The young leaves and stems can be eaten raw or cooked.
