Persicaria maculosa
Persicaria maculosa, commonly known as lady's thumb or spotted lady's thumb, is an annual herbaceous plant that can grow up to 1 meter tall. It has erect, somewhat floppy stems with swollen joints and alternate, almost stalkless leaves that often have a brown or black spot in the center. The inflorescence is a dense spike of tiny pink flowers, each with four or five lobes fused near the base. The fruit is a shiny black, three-edged achene.
