Galium verum, commonly known as yellow bedstraw or lady's bedstraw, is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant. It has stiff stems growing to 15–120 cm tall and shiny dark green leaves borne in whorls of 8–12. The flowers are small, yellow, and produced in dense clusters.

Uses:

The dried plants were traditionally used to stuff mattresses due to their flea-repellent properties. The flowers were used in cheese manufacture and dyeing. In Denmark, the plant is used to infuse spirits for making a unique drink called bjæsk. It also has historical medicinal uses, such as calming fits of rage in Gaelic mythology.
