The inflorescence consists of a pseudo-whorl of 4–16 flowers, each with bilateral symmetry and a yellow corolla featuring a prominent hood. The flower's lower lip has three lobes with the central lobe often streaked with orange, and it flowers typically from May to June. The plant propagates through stolons and is known for its invasive tendencies in various regions.
