Cruciata laevipes Opiz
Cruciata laevipes is a perennial, sprawling plant that grows to a height of 15-70 cm. It spreads by seeds and stolons and has yellow hermaphrodite flowers. The inner flowers are male and soon fall off, while the outer ones are bisexual and produce fruit. The flowers have a honey-like scent. Each whorl of four leaves includes two real leaves and two stipules. It is associated with arbuscular mycorrhiza that penetrate the cortical cells of the roots.
