Calystegia sepium, commonly known as hedge bindweed, is a herbaceous perennial vine that twines counter-clockwise to a height of up to 3 meters. It has dull green, arrowhead-shaped leaves that are 5–10 cm long and 3–7 cm broad. The flowers are white, sometimes with pink windows, produced from late spring to the end of summer. The buds are enclosed by large green bracteoles with burgundy margins.
