Anthyllis vulneraria, commonly known as kidney vetch or woundwort, is a medicinal plant native to Europe, northern Africa, and Western Asia. It reaches heights of 5–40 centimeters (2.0–15.7 inches). The stem is simple or branched, and the leaves are imparipinnate with scattered hairs on the upper face and silky hairs on the underside. The flower heads are spherical, 10–20 millimeters long, and typically yellow in most subspecies but red in A. vulneraria var. coccinea. Flowering occurs between June and September, with fruiting from July to October.
