Allium scorodoprasum
The sand leek is a perennial plant with an egg-shaped bulb. It produces two to five unstalked leaves, each with a linear blade that is 7–20 millimeters wide, flat with a slight keel, and has rough edges. The flowering stem is cylindrical, growing to 30 to 90 centimeters tall, with the upper half being leafless. The plant has an onion-like aroma. The inflorescence is a globular cluster of purple flowers, each with a perianth 4 to 7 millimeters long. The plant also produces purple bulbils among the flowers, which are used for propagation.
