Traditionally used as an antiseptic, aromatic, carminative, and digestive aid. It has been employed to treat bee stings or insect bites through the use of a poultice of the leaves. Internally, it is used to treat colic, flatulence, gastro-enteritis, cystitis, nausea, diarrhea, bronchial congestion, sore throat, and menstrual disorders. Therapeutic-grade oil inhibits the growth of Candida albicans.
