Viburnum opulus
Viburnum opulus, commonly known as guelder rose or European cranberrybush, is a deciduous shrub that grows to heights of 4-5 meters. It has opposite, three-lobed leaves that are 5-10 cm long and broad with a rounded base. The leaves have coarse serrated margins and somewhat wrinkled surfaces with impressed leaf venation. The flowers are white, produced in corymbs 4-11 cm in diameter at the top of the stems, with a ring of outer sterile flowers and a center of small fertile flowers. The fruit is a globose bright red drupe 7-10 mm in diameter, containing a single seed.
