A vigorous shrub growing up to 3 meters tall with a rounded form and many branches covered in deciduous, pale green leaves. The leaves are composed of multiple pairs of slightly hairy oval-shaped leaflets, each up to about 3 cm long. The plant produces yellow flowers arranged in racemes, each flower being approximately 3 cm long. The fruit is an inflated bladdery pod that dries to a papery texture, measuring 2 to 3 cm in length and containing many seeds.
